I’d love to have all the BIRTH Basic members introduce themselves here on this post. It would be great to get to know some of you. A little about me… I’m a mom to four kiddos, partner to Brock! Savannah is 17, Jackson is 16, Kelley is 4, and Wiley is 1. Birth, motherhood and data aren’t my only obsession. I love good food, winter, the holiday season, and Hallmark Christmas movies year-round! Your turn!

  1. Sydney Harvey

Hi Everyone! I’m Sydney. My husband, Brian, and I have have been together for nearly 5 years and we have such a wonderful family. He has sole custody of his eldest, Celeste, who will be 15 next month. We have her full time and she is not only my wonderful daughter, but also my best friend. I’m so blessed to have her. We also have two rambunctious boys: EJ, who is 3-1/2 and Canniff (who we occasionally call “Finn”) who just turned 1 in July. I’m 22 weeks pregnant with our next babe and have been having a wild pregnancy leading up to my first UC in February. I am a lover of all things birth, breastfeeding, and homesteading. The plan was to get certified as a Lactation Counselor earlier this year, but COVID and an unplanned pregnancy has made us say: “there’s always next year”. As a result, we’ve been focusing on growing our mini homestead, planning the greenhouse, learning more about our chickens, diving into herbs and homeopathy, and so much more. I hope to eventually become a birth keeper when I don’t have little babes in the house. However, that seems to be a long way away, since our family is DEFINITELY not complete. I’m so excited for the BIRTH circle membership because I would love to be surrounded by champions of women and those with the same interests and passions as me. I can’t wait to get to know you all! ❤️🌻❣️

Love this <3 There is such good energy here. This year through so many of us for the same loop I think. It was a blessing and a curse launching this platform during all of this mess. We want a greenhouse too but waiting until we're in our "forever home"

  2. Linnae

I’m Linnae. I’m 32 and just got married (first time lol) on leap day! Just found out we’re expecting our first, so I’m here purely in a learning capacity (Soo many questions haha). DH and I were both homeschooled and I’ve been very much looking forward to being a sightly crunchy homeschool mom! 😆 I love old b&w comedies, hiking/camping/being outdoors, country living, and making delicious, healthy food. I guess that’s about it for now. 😁

  3. Janie Wolff

    Hi Everyone!

My name is Janie and my husband is Jon. We are currently using FAM and are on month 6 of TTC. Send all the baby dust our way. 🥰 we have a 8 year old labrador named Moozah, a 2 year old tailless calico named Habiba, a 7 year old Maine Coon named Hero, and we recently rescued a hognose snake and have named him Skimmer! So until we have babies of our own i guess ill just keep learning and growing our zoo. 😍😍

  4. Ashley DeSantis

    Hello all 😁
My name is Ashley, I’m 27, married to Toren for about 4 years. We have a 2.5 year old son, Silas and I am just shy of 40 weeks pregnant with our number 2 boy, Colton 💙💙

I’ve loved learning from this group and cannot wait time share how our planned home birth goes.

We live in Florida but are dreaming of colorful leaves and cooler weather found some place else 😂

    1. Dani Lasher, Childbirth Educator

Are we spirit sisters, Ashley? LOL We’re in Maryland but the weather I grew up with here is long gone. I fell in love with the charm and four seasons New England offers when we lived there. We are planning to move back to the Northeast in the next few years and plant our roots there for good.

  5. Alena Casey

Hello! I’m Alena, and I’m 22. I’ve been married to Andrew for 3.5 years and we have three littles already! Almost 3, almost 2, and nine months. I always knew I wanted an unmedicated birth, but when I ended up with a midwife who did mostly home births but had hospital privileges, I learned so much that I changed my mind! Over the past 3 years I’ve gone from slightly skeptical of the mainstream to full-blown crunchy and I love it! My two favorite crunchy lifestyle topics are birth and homeopathy. I’m also a writer and I’m doing my best to keep writing and trying to get published while also raising kids. 😅😁

  6. Tiffany Mangum

Hi everyone I’m Tiffany! I’m a mom to almost three. My baby girl Violet Ruth is due December. I also have 3 angel babies. This is my first pregnancy that isn’t a rainbow. My son Daniel is almost 4 and my daughter Aria is almost 3. My son and I share a birthday! Best gift ever. My 1st natural birth was with my daughter and I’ll never go back! I’m passionate about birth and women knowing their rights and choices. I’ve been married almost 6 years to my husband Ryan. We have moved 4 times since being married. We are currently stuck in Arizona where we moved temporarily to help take care of my mom who has breast cancer. People are literally swarming our home state of Idaho so it’s really hard to get a house right now. I’m in a tiny town in Arizona that has very very few birth options for women. There is only one real midwife who just opened a birth center where I’m hoping and praying to give birth. I stay at home with my babies now but my future goal is to become a doula and eventually a midwife!

  7. Hannah Winn-Milrany

Hello! I’m Hannah, a pediatric, pregnancy and family wellness chiropractor in DFW, Texas. I have been married for 1.5 years to Tyler, an audiologist. I am looking forward to learning some gems to better serve my patients. I am also excited to learn for myself, as we are about to embark on our journey of conception. I love my job, kiddos, traveling, to sing, and my peloton.

  8. Brett Werst

Hello! I’m Brett, wife to Mason and Mom to Landon (2) and Michael (5 months). I was homeschooled all the way to college and work in my family business with my seven younger siblings, parents, and husband. Looking forward to our boys working in it as they grow up!

One of my biggest priorities when it came to finding a husband was finding someone who was willing to homeschool, and wanted to have a large family. Our large family plans may have been altered by the fact that I’ve had to have two c-sections so far (the first an unnecessary failed induction, the second a failed homebirth) but I’m hoping to find a VBA2C friendly provider, though it’s not looking likely at this point and I’m afraid I’m going to have to show up pushing when we get pregnant with our next one.

We live in Southern Indiana with our cat (an unexpected addition), only a few miles from my family’s farm and my husband’s family farm. While we live in town with all its conveniences, we’re able to give our boys the best of both worlds by going to the farm almost every day so they can spend plenty of time outside and with animals. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

I love reading, writing, singing (and I used to play violin), but spend most of my time working or cleaning up after my messy crew LOL.

I’m on Instagram at https://instagram.com/booksquirt and love sharing pictures of our boys and our lives on the farm! (If this isn’t allowed, let me know and I’ll remove!)

    So glad to be here!

      1. Brett Werst

My family does goats, chickens, and LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) and supports the 13 of us (my parents, seven siblings, and me and mine) with all things goat milk. Goat milk soaps, lotions, lip balms, etc, as well as cheese and other food products. Mason’s family does beef cattle. Between the two, we’ve got most things covered!

  9. Tamira Emes

Hey everyone! I’m so sorry I’m behind, I’ve been trying so hard to make time to check out this wonderful group. My name is Tamira and I’m 26. We have a 5 year old daughter, Emmalyn – she is such a great big sister! Our son James is almost three and he’s our adventurer. Lastly Annelise is our littlest love and she is four months new. Life these past few months have been so crazy and wonderful and overwhelming. Our almost three year old is struggling with attention and it’s becoming very overwhelming for me trying to make sure everyone receives enough attention daily. Anyways, we are first generation homeschool parents and are so happy we had made this choice before our oldest was born. It’s very exciting watching them learn new concepts for the very first time. Eventually we’d love to homestead and I’d really love to get into the birthing field. Doula, photographer, midwife – I’m not quite sure yet! Our first was a hospital birth, our second a birth center birth and this last birth was a homebirth. I still think it’s so cool when I take a bath now and I just sit and reminisce and think “wow I birthed a baby here!” No matter how a mother chooses to bring her baby earth side I want every single mama to feel the way that I did. In control and empowered. I’m still trying to get a handle on a schedule with three kids but if I do have some spare time I love to sew. That’s really it about me, I’m looking forward to being a part of this community. I definitely want to make it a priority for my spare time to come hop on. Thanks for reading.♥️
