We’ve never really done them except with this last baby. We have 4 other kids and so we did it for them, but it wasn’t really anything big, we gave them pink and purple paper to write/draw pictures for/to the new baby and asked them why the papers might be pink and purple. I’m so glad we videotaped it because you could see the wheels turning in my 8 year old’s head. It was so cute when he finally shouted “Because it’s a girl!” Lol.
When we chose to find out the gender via ultrasound, we did have the tech write it down and we chose to open it later. It was very fun with our 3rd to have our oldest son open the letter and deliver the news to us and immediate family himself. (We didn’t do a party this time.)
