    I’m having trouble printing the document. DuckDuckGo browser won’t even entertain the idea of downloading or printing. And Google chrome only lets me print the first two pages. 🧐 Maybe the issue is on my end. Is anyone else having trouble printing?

      Great question. Oats used in food commonly like oatmeal are just the seed portion of avena sativa. Oat straw is directly from the leaves and stem and that portion of the plant contains far more iron and zinc, as well as other minerals that are in reduced quantity in other portions of the avena sativa plant. It is my understanding that oats can be great for certain acute situations that require more instantaneous relief, whereas oat straw provides better long-term nutritional support. Oat straw is harvested before the plant is actually fully ripe to attain peak medicinal benefits. This is the “milky oat” stage of the plant. The more the avena sativa plant matures, some of that medicinal mineral content erodes. Oats are fully mature seeds, harvested later, without that milky oat benefit.

      Some studies have also shown oat straw specifically diminish inflammatory cytokines – which we know are often responsible for preterm labor. So, there is potential it could be of benefit it preventing or delaying such. There is no direct research on this topic though, so I didn’t include it in the file. But many practitioners feel it’s more or less a fairly harmless attempt at such. The same effect may reduce the risk of mood disorders in/following pregnancy as well.
